GaGo10 – Porter goes after the Drought

So we here in Georgia are apparently out of the drought.  Therefore, forget everything we’ve learned over the past few years and lets blow water like its going out of style!  Party like it 1999!  After all, surely we won’t get in another drought anytime soon…right?

Sonny lifted the water restrictions.  Not a whole lot of people, in the news, have been saying “uh, maybe this isn’t the best idea.”  Everything I’ve heard, until now, from the media has been “woohoo!  lets go water our grass and wash our cars again!”

But its nice to hear Porter, a candidate on the Democratic side of the aisle from rual southwest Georgia, call a “wtf”.

From Jim Galloway at the AJC, quoting something by Porter,

What happened to the “culture of
conservation” he promised a few months ago?

The hallmark of the Perdue Administration is always the same:
when confronted with any problem, first, deny it. Then, when denying won’t
work any longer, claim that you are solving it.

Then just forget all about it, and
 wait until your term ends.

Georgia is going to have another drought. Sonny Perdue is leaving us no more
prepared for the next drought than he prepared us for the drought that has
just mercifully ended.

Porter goes up a notch in my book for this one.  Just because its rainy again doesn’t mean we need to take proactive measures to stop the next drought before it comes.

Another stellar job Sonny.

  1. Ha! In response to Galloway’s comment, “The hallmark of the Perdue Administration is always the same:
when confronted with any problem, first, deny it. Then, when denying won’t
work any longer, claim that you are solving it.” — don’t forget the middle step, praying for a solution! Remember when Perdue prayed for an end to the drought (after, of course, checking the weather forcast to make sure it was supposed to rain)?
